LOPEC, the 6th International Conference and Exhibition for the Organic and Printed Electronics Industry, took place in Munich from May 26-28, 2014.
This year, Coatema presented a complete new product line for laboratory coating and printing: the “Test Solution.” These small machines were interesting for most visitors and were the top attraction at the booth, especially the roll-to-roll machinery.
Coatema also announced a new cooperation with Lunovu company, a leading start-up for roll-to-roll laser applications. Coatema and Lunovu have partnered to develop, produce and distribute laser patterning for roll-to-roll systems.
Coatema had the honor of welcoming international delegations from Taiwan and Singapore, presenting the new machinery, showing them around and arranging a special welcome meeting in cooperation with Messe München.
As the highlight of the LOPEC, the Demonstration Line got a lot of media interest, and Coatema featured prominently by producing the demonstrator on the Smartcoater. Visitors could watch the different processes and materials of the live production of a 9-volt battery tester. Three functional layers were coated on paper by using a rotary screen system, engraved roller printing and slot die. Once power is flowing through the tester, the second layer will heat up the thermochromic layer, and with a chemical reaction, a text will become visible so that the user can see if the battery is full or low. Lots of visitors took the chance to take a free sample of the tester.
The increased number of visitors at the Coatema booth showed the importance of the LOPEC, and the success story of the LOPEC Live Manufacturing Area underlines this.
