Registrations for LOPEC, the international exhibition and conference for the printed electronics industry, are in full swing, with international interest being especially high. Along with European technology companies, the fair will also represent Asian and North American businesses. LOPEC will be held from April 5-7, 2016 in the ICM – Internationales Congress Center München.
So far, key market players such as Bosch-Rexroth, CDT, Fujifilm Dimatix, GSI, Heraeus, Kroenert, Merck, NovaCentrix, PolyIC, Thieme, Thin Film Electronics and VTT have registered as exhibitors. Among first-timers, Schott and the University of Tokyo will also participate. The exhibitors cover the entire value chain for printed electronics, from research to material production and manufacturing, right through to end-use applications.
“The already high number of registrations from all over the world shows just how much is currently happening in the organic and printed electronics industry,” said project manager Anja Schneider.
The current business climate survey carried out by the OE-A (Organic and Printed Electronics Association) also shows that organic and printed electronics are becoming increasingly important.
“The developments in the industry look very promising; 80% of the surveyed companies anticipate the positive trend of 2015 to continue and expect an increase in sales of 18% for 2016,” noted Dr. Klaus Hecker, OE-A managing director.
As a guiding and leading industry platform, LOPEC picks up on current market shifts and trends. At the LOPEC 2016 conference, international top experts from the academic as well as business world will pass on their knowledge and know-how through numerous presentations, including:
• Steven Nietvelt, chief innovation and marketing manager at Cartamundi, who will demonstrate the potential of printed electronics in the games industry.
• Dr. Werner Thomas, project manager for innovations light at Audi, will present the current challenges and perspectives of OLEDs in the automotive industry.
• Professor Henning Sirringhaus from Cambridge University will speak on the potential and the device physics of thin-film transistors.
