FUJIFILM Corporation completed its previously announced acquisition of Ultra Pure Solutions, Inc. (UPSI), based in Castroville, CA, by its electronic materials manufacturing and marketing subsidiary, FUJIFILM Electronic Materials U.S.A., Inc. (FEUS). UPSI, a US manufacturer of high-purity solvents used in semiconductor-related manufacturing processes, is now a wholly owned subsidiary of FEUS with the new name FUJIFILM Ultra Pure Solutions, Inc.
“We are very excited about this acquisition,” said Dr. Brian O’Donnelly, president and CEO, FUJIFILM Electronic Materials U.S.A., Inc., said: “It serves as a good example of Fujifilm’s efforts to focus on developing the company’s highly functional materials business.”
FUJIFILM Ultra Pure Solutions, Inc. has facilities in Castroville, CA and Carrollton, TX, producing a broad range of high-purity solvents to meet the needs of its customers, which include major semiconductor and other chemical manufacturers. The acquisition complements FUJIFILM Electronic Materials’ current product lines, which also includes high-purity solvents as well as photoresists, developers, cleaners, CMP slurries, polyimides and other enabling chemistries for use in semiconductor fabrication.
