Georgia Tech and SEMI announce the launch of FUTURECAR: New Era of Automotive Electronics Workshop. Presented in partnership with iNEMI, IMAPS and IEEE-CPMT, the FUTURECAR workshop will take place Nov. 9-10, 2016, at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA. Registration is now open.
Autonomous driving, real-time telemetry and communications, electric cars and infotainment among other technologies require a new era of electronics and electronic systems to ensure safety, speed, functionality and reliability of the next-generation of automobiles. Consumer expectations will accelerate these drivers, requiring the exploration and integration of many disparate and disruptive technologies. This, in turn, will require new models of collaboration across the supply-chain.
The FUTURECAR workshop will help build these models through technology, business and supply-chain and end-user sessions as well as networking and creative interactions in areas including:
• Autonomous driving: Cameras, radar and lidar.
• Electric cars: Co-design and fabrication of GaN and SiC devices and packages for high power.
• Computing and communications: High bandwidth wireless (5G), digital (2.5D/3D) and photonic Si and glass technologies.
• High-temperature and high-reliability: substrates, components, interconnections, encapsulants and reliability mechanisms.
• Cross supply-chain collaborative platforms to assess technology options and business risks.
• Supply-chain enablement, standards and roadmaps.
R&D, strategy and business development leaders, design and manufacturing leaders across the entire supply-chain – including semiconductor, package, assembly, components and automobile manufacturers, may wish to attend this workshop.
