INDEOtec SA and CSEM SA have been awarded an R&D grant funding from the SWISS Commission for Technology and Innovation (CTI) for the purpose of the further development of INDEOtec’s OCTOPUS deposition platform. The total R&D project achieves a size in the range of single-digit million Swiss francs.
The project developments will be jointly executed between INDEOtec and CSEM, and will focus on the validation of the Octopus PECVD-PVD cluster system as well as on the demonstration of the highly innovative double-sided PECVD Mirror Reactor deposition concept, which is dedicated to the manufacturing of high efficiency, heterojunction PV cell devices. The project targets to demonstrate the consecutive and reproducible manufacture of cell precursors yielding to an >23% efficiency level at exceptional levels of low thickness non-uniformity for the deposited thin films (< 5%).
