Savi announced that it has appointed J. Richard (Rich) Carlson as CEO. Sean McGuinness, who had been interim CEO, will continue to serve as chairman of Savi’s board of directors.
A seasoned technology leader with more than 20 years’ experience in the software and wireless space, Carlson is the founder and president of the Neon Dolphin Technology Group, where he advised and helped grow IoT (Internet of Things) and software firms.
Prior to founding Neon Dolphin, Carlson spent eight years as CEO at Wireless Matrix Corporation, which was publicly traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange, where he transformed the business from a niche satellite provider to a leader in the fleet management SaaS (software-as-a-service) industry.
Carlson built and led an enterprise sales team at Wireless Matrix that ramped subscribers to more than 100,000, increased service revenue to more than 70% of total revenue and created market leading enterprise fleet management solutions. In 2013, the company was acquired by CalAmp, a Nasdaq publicly traded company.
