The University of Twente and Solliance Solar Research have started a long-term collaboration, which focuses on the integration of thin-film solar technology in building materials and flexible applications, and on further development and analyses of perovskite-based solar cells. The University of Twente has joined all three Shared Research Programs at Solliance Solar Research as a partner.
“With thin-film technology, the current low cost of PV can be further reduced and various applications can be developed,” said Dr. Angèle Reinders, associate professor at the faculty of Engineering Technology of the University of Twente. “We hope, through this collaboration in a large group that includes partners from the academic world and industry in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, to come to closer corporation and joint research projects.”
“Twente has a proven track record on nano-materials science, high-end analytical technologies and many more, which could become crucial for future successful thin-film PV developments,” added Ronn Andriessen, director of Solliance Solar Research.
