Graphene Week in Strasbourg has been postponed to 2021.
This year, there will be an online event in its place.
"Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we regretfully have no choice but to postpone Graphene Week 2020. The next edition of the leading European conference on graphene and layered materials will instead take place in Strasbourg, France, on Sept. 20-24, 2021," Graphene Flagship said. "This year, the Graphene Flagship will instead offer an online alternative, featuring a diverse range of fantastic speakers, several sessions on graphene innovation and a broad program to attract people from all around the world."
The new online event will be included in the new "Graphene For…" series of digital events, which will kick off with Graphene For Energy Storage Applications.
The theme of the online conference to be held Sept. 22-24, 2020, will be Graphene For Research, Innovation and Collaboration, reflecting the Graphene Flagship's mission statement.
Details are still being finalized. Invited speakers are also being confirmed. That includes three keynote speakers Philip Kim from Harvard University; Valeria Nicolosi from Trinity College (Dublin, Ireland); and Konstantin Novoselov from The Manchester University, UK.
An online poster session will give researchers a chance to share their work. Last but not least, the digital event will be rounded off with two exclusive sessions dedicated to diversity and sustainability in the graphene community.
Graphene For Research, Innovation and Collaboration will be a digital event. Registration will open soon, and the registration page will be announced on Graphene Flagship's website and social media pages in due course.
