ACTEGA announced that it has appointed Dennis Siepmann to the newly created role of global head of sustainability. This appointment underscores the company’s commitment to driving their ESG agenda further.
Siepmann will lead the ongoing development and delivery of ACTEGA’s sustainability and ESG initiatives with a particular focus on circular economy, sustainable solutions, and ALTANA’s objectives to becoming climate neutral by 2025. He will be responsible for driving ACTEGA’s sustainability efforts and their integration across the technologies and operations of the company.
Siepmann has been with ACTEGA for more than a decade, having started as business development manager at the ACTEGA site in Bremen, Germany and most recently as the global segment head for Specialty Consumer Goods.
“Sustainability is a key priority for our company and a topic I’m incredibly passionate about,” Siepmann said. “My previous roles have given me a broad understanding of sustainability, and I am keen to bring in my experience to address sustainable development topics within our company and within the packaging industry.”
During his career with ACTEGA, Siepmann has played a key role in the successful delivery of several projects which were driven by sustainability targets. These include the development of environmentally friendly and PVC-free materials for medical applications or thermoplastic elastomers for personal care applications with improved processing properties.
Siepmann will report directly to Thorsten Kröller, president, Division ACTEGA, in his new position.
“I am very pleased to appoint Dennis as our global head of sustainability,” Kröller said. “Dennis has been with us for 12 years and knows our company inside out. His seniority and deep knowledge of our operations will help to accelerate our ambition to expand ACTEGA’s sustainability leadership across all our businesses. This appointment is a clear signal of our longstanding commitment to sustainability, adding value to the business, our customers and the wider industry. I am confident that under his leadership, we will make great progress towards building a sustainable future not only for our company but also for our industry.”
