Quantum Science, the infrared quantum dot (QD) technology company, has appointed Billy McLaughlin as its first chief operating officer (COO).
As COO, McLaughlin will be responsible for leading Quantum Science’s commercial operations as the business continues to develop its leading INFIQ infrared QD technology.
McLaughlin brings with him significant business acumen with more than 30 years experience in the semiconductor industry, as well as expertise in supply chain operations, engineering, quality, research and technology, and global applications.
During his career he has held roles including managing director at Sivers Photonics, where he was responsible for growing the company, and held senior leadership and board-level positions at SmartKem, Motorola, Global Foundries, and Teledyne e2v. He has worked in leading semiconductor markets around the world, including Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Europe, and the USA.
